smokey black?

dam carries no red factor sire cremello hetroygous agouti

http://www.umenno.com/prija/

http://www.umenno.com/dijonna/

most of the time she looks grey, her sister from two years ago is homozygous black agouti negative.

Most of the time she looks grey buck sometimes in bright sunshine she looks reddish

If I test her what should her results come back as? Obviously she has one creme gene and carries the red factor.

Oh, I have no doubt at all she is smokey black.

You know for sure she is EeCrcr. If the dam "carries no red factor", that means she is EE, meaning she can only passE. In this particular scenario, it doesn't matter if the filly is EE or Ee. The only question is whether she is Aa or aa.

From her looks, I have no doubt she is aa. Her eyes are also another giveaway. She is just beautiful!!!

ok thanks looking forwards to seeing her once she has shed out, we are rather smitten with her too, their we were betting buckskin or palomino..... we both lost. Smokey black hadn't even come into our thoughts left us both grinning at her birth.

will be doing shoots of the foalies over the coming weeks, she still hasnt shed out yet and not yet got round to testing her........

Have read that there is a new "tan" gene being tested for classically found in bays, so interested in learning more as a number of our bays are hardly classical, Velita being the most unusal bay of them all.

Anyway in the meantime heres another lovely baby, thoughts on her colour, I guess shes bog standard buckskin?

sorry............ its stud season............ amazed I fitted in all of those shoots.. gimee a break my staff are awsome but they do the washin and plaitin and theres only so much I can ask them to do.............

panagre, mmm could be, accordingly the first tests are just being carried out now...... dunno.......

now help me please with smokey cream.......... she's born beige as opposed to white/creamy both parents buckskin.....

If bred to a homozygous black hetrozygous agouti......... seen a lovely filly and think she could be a valuable addition to our breeding program.....

That is Brown. The At gene and is being done at PetDNA here in the states. Lot's of posts about Brown here in breeding, LOL

I have a brown mare and probably a brown foal, AND a Brown dun gelding.

Could you ask on the other board where they are getting their tests done? I'd be VERY interested.

Also, we are asked not to post links to other forums on this one, so you might want to edit
