I know it sounds mean, but I hope that little horse is extreamly uncomfortable. Maybe if she is uncomfortable enough for long enough she will pop the little thing out.

But if she is ready to foal wouldnt her udder be more full and her teats be pointing downward more?

Or could this just be one of those mares who produces milk AFTER baby is born?
Truthfully, I don't know what she is going to do. She has foaled before, but not with me or her last owner. My pinto mare has a fuller udder with the teats pointing down, but she has been like that for a few days now. These girls are going to have me sick with worry untill I have two healthy foals on the ground.

The waiting is the worst part.

My pinto mare Brandy is normally a nutcase when stabled. She will bounce up & down & paw like mad no matter how long you have her in for (its the mustnag in her). Mom said that this morning she is very quiet, it isn't like her.

Now I've seen some interesting udder shots but I think this one has to top them all. I had to do a double take and look at the enlarged picture to figure out what that was.. LOL!'

Good luck with foaling! Hope all goes well

lol thanks. I had just checked her milk before taking that picture so I was trying not to get kicked.

As of this morning, no baby. I am heading back out now to check on them.
