Sierra jumped!

So, happy Turkey day everyone!

I got to my dad's around noon-ish and before I helped prepare the food, I went out to say my hello's to Sierra. Well, one thing led to another and before I knew it I was leading her into the pasture to lunge her!

Mind you, I haven't lunged her in MONTHS! But I figured I'd trot her around (she's not very polite on the lunge line) and end on a good note.. ya know, just give her a change of routine.

I had her trotting around but every now and then she'd challenge me, rear up, buck, etc. So I decided she needed to let out some energy. I asked her to canter and boy did she fly around! She needed to let out a LOT of pent-up energy, she was hoppin' and buckin' and would have bursts of just plain RUNNING! I slowly inched ourselves closer to the little pyramid of 3 trot poles I had up figuring I'd focus her energy on jumping... and all I can say is WOW! Sierra slowed the first time, approaching it, but didn't hesitate at all the next.. or the next.. or the dozen other times she went over it! She got pretty full of herself towards the last few times, but obviously enjoyed it. So I ended on that, let her loose and with that she galloped back to the stall and let me groom her without anything on. Man, I love that girl!!

Thanks! Yeah, it was great. Sierra had great form over the jump.

Sounds like you two had a great time. Is she always that energetic? I like how she just walked back to her stall for grooming like nothing had happened, too cute.
