Here's one that I saw a while back on a similar thread ( To pull or not to pull... )that I made for my QH palomino mare with the same problem. (She used to be a reiner, but I never pulled her mane).

Anyway, here it is. It looks like it is double banded, which would take a little longer, but looks awesome!

I agree... banding is a good thing... If you show in a western class a braid may get you DQ'd if the judge wants to be a jerk. There is no way I am cutting or pulling a mane for any judge.

There's no rule in the AQHA regarding braids in the mane, you see a lot of horses who are braided for HUS showing WP with the braids still in, but.....a "foreign" object like a rubber band in the tail is an automatic DQ in any class. Don't ask me how I know this! LOL

Well I have decided to band it and see how it looks. The next show is an open show so that one is not a huge deal. They will have to stay banded for the reining class since it is immediately after the WP class which is right after the horsemanship class.
