Post Show today! results, PICTURES!

Ok this was my first show with my mare BLue. It was also my sisters first show with her riding our horse HB all by herself. SHe was in beginner w/t, when last year she was in lead line. THe day had it's ups and downs. THere were half hour clinics in the morning for each class. I was in advanced w/t/c.

Rachel (Sister) had her class first, we parked across the street from the actual farm. So my sister had to leave with HB, leaving my mare "all by herself". Well she winnyied (sp?) most of the time. I needed to get her tacked up and warmed up. SO i went to put her saddle pad on (white, we only use it for shows) and she totally flipped about that. So i got one of my friends to hold her and she bucked and half reared. She carried on like that for a couple times when i put it on. THen the saddle came, and she shyed at that touching her back, i wanted to kill her. SHe's done that since she got her raabies shot 2 thursdays ago. SHe flinches and shys from the saddle when i put it on. But if i take it off and put it on again, she's fine. I don't know. Anyway, she finally cooled down and we got her saddled up. I took her into the arena they have on the property and lunged her. I tryed to mount when i was done, but she spooked. SO i lunged her again, then mounted her and she was fine.

I warmed her up good, only to find out that the classes were running late. SO i had to untack her and wait around for an hour and a half. My sisters came back with HB while i was warming her up.

So i finlly have my little clinic class, didn't do much and had to cut it short cuz of time. So we had a 10 min lunch break then we had our showmanship class. Both my sisters and mine first time. We stood there forever in the heat. My sister ended up taking the BLue ribbon out of 20 people (including me) (she's only 8) and i didn't even place. I was so preoccupied with what she was doing that i messed everything up with me and my mare. I was mad though, the judge deducted points from my mare cuz she had a tinged bit of yellow on her butt, which wouldn't come off, it's permenently stained, you can barely see it though. And she also took points off for not clipping her, when HB (who took the blue) didn't get deducted on that, even though they had the same amount of whiskers. Anyway, i was really proud of my sister, i couldn't belive she beat all those kids.

She also got a first in her equitation class, and a second in her pleasure.

Then i got a 2nd in both my classes (eque. and plea.) But Blue wasn't very good. On the left lead she was pretty good and slow, but on the right she was going faster then i would have liked and all over the place with her head. SHe did something at the end of the class, where i lost my stirrup. My whole class was 4 people, 2 of which had crazy horses, one kid even fell off. So while their hand galloping their horses around the arena i was trying to control my mare, who was a little freaky today to begin with.

But we did pretty good over all. But to end the day with a wonderful note (dripping with sarcasm) we found out that someone stole my mothers purce from inside out truck. They also stole my friends mother's purce from in their truck. The one time we didn't lock the doors. So now my mom needs to get a new license, cancel all her checks and credit cards, we need to change the locks on out house doors because they have her keys, and we need to get new sets of keys for everything. It was awful. But the poeple who ran the show think they know who did it. There were some people there that they didn't want there, but they couldn't kick them off the property. They also wanted some food the show was selling, but didn't have any money, then they came back, and had money.

All in all, it was a kinda bad day kinda good day. Sorry this is so long, i'll get pics up later, not tongiht, need to sleep.

Wow, that was quite the day. Rotten about the purses. Your little sis sounds like she's really got it all down pat, for 8yrs old that's fantastic! You sound like a great big sister
BTW, have you tried using Quick Sliver on that stain?

Glad to hear your sister did so well, and you too. Too bad about the purses- hope they find who did it!! First shows with a horse are always challenging, LOL, but they get used to the whole thing quickly.

Thanks guys! Yeah Rachel really is doing fantastic, i'm so proud of her. I guess it put her at a big advantage (opposed to me) because she grew up watching me ride. So she got to see it, and she does it right. I got pics coming, it's gonna take a while to get them up, so bare with me. I did use quick silver BTW, we washed the spot about 4 times during her bath. Then at the show, i spunged the area where she layed in poop that night and washed it with quick silver. Ok, gonna work with pics.

I think i was backing her up here but it looks like i'm hugging her.

Here we are looking at the judge.

Here is a beautiful pic of my sister in perfect form, and HB looking handsome.

Here's a funny pic of Blue at the trailer, it looks like her head is big and her body is small. It's the sun it think.

Here's me and BLue in our clinic.

Clinic again.
