I've got a few show tips that really saved my life. I figured I'd share them with you, if you share some with me .

1. Black leather polish is my BEST FRIEND! I had the dirtiest oldest pair of boots that I had to wear to a show. I just put like 10 coats of black polish on them, and they looked like new.

2. Never wear your show pants for warming up. If you have breeches on, just pull some sweat pants over them. If you show western, try to put some sweat pants or jeans on for warming up, and if you don't have a dressing room in your trailer, just change in the back of the trailer where the horses go. They won't look! lol

3. If you're showing English, always tuck your hair under your helmet. If your hair is to long, buy a Show Bow. It looks really slopy if your hair is just in a messy pony-tail and floping around when you ride.

4. If you use hoof polish, put boots on your horse and keep them on until the second you enter the ring to keep grass and sand off of your horse's feet.

5. Try to have a friend follow you up to the gate, so that they can do little things to make you extra polished and pretty (like wiping horse hair off your shirt, wiping off your boots, ect.).

6. Always have fun and smile!!

Bring a cooler with ample water, gatorade and snacks so you can stay hydrated and sustained. (horse show food, when you can get it, is expensive and usually awful)
