But she said she doesn't trust her horse, that is why I said go on the lunge.

I think I am a pretty competant rider - lol - but I wouldn't do Rein Less work on my been there done that TB, without being on the lunge line.

Then again, I've eatten enough fence for the all of us to not want to do it alone *spits splinter out*

I guess I could see if there was a really well set up grid for me to go into knowing my horse wouldn't veer out on me. But I do like the fact that I can do Rein Less work while on the lunge so that I can focus on me and my horses rhythm instead of focusing on him entirely.

To have someone do the ground stuff for you and have an eye for you while controlling your horse for you really does make all the difference.

I do - do *yeah I said do do* reinless flat work. canter, trot, walk. Without being on the lunge. And I work on my downward transitions with just my seat. If that counts.

Would it be ideal to start on the lunge on a Steady Eddy? Sure. Not always possible though, and not necessarily a must IMHO.

I have no problem going reinless, on someone else, just not him, he's still green and wiggly lol I think we'd slowly drift our way out of the grid lol.

But I'm planning on riding Finn tomorrow so I'll work the reinless in there. I've done it before with him

The fact that his knees are tight and even, but he looks bored over the fence shows that he could jump much higher than these fences. He's handsome

You look like more of the "get the job done efficiently" riders than the "look, isnt my eq pretty?" riders Which I love to see your type! I don't like posey riders, and you definitely are not.

You could come back into the saddle more; just remember to let your horse's motion bring you forward. Don't just "lean forward" because a jump is coming. I learned that the hard way with refusals and such

Also, in the second picture, you need to let your hands forward over the fences and release. You've got a tight hold on his mouth, which is probably part of the reason that he's not rounding over the fence and using himself correctly. [because he can't with a hold on his face]

But overall, you guys look like a good pair! With a few minor fixes, you guys could be unbeatable. Congrats on the reserve
thanks, and yes he finds this quite boring; I actually caught him out in the field jumping over a fallen tree, that was about 31/2 ft lol, but we've still got to work out some stuff before moving up...like getting STRAIGHT to the jump haha.
