Show on Friday!

My first show of the season is on Friday! It is my 4-H Rally show.. we don't win any money or anything, but we get ribbons, and prizes. So I'm very excited! Plus this year I am a junior leader, so I have three students who are showing for the very first time!

I am going in the following classes (everything! :P)

Showmanship and Grooming
English Equitation
Western Horsemanship
Judging
Barrels
Poles
Keyhole

I do have a question though.. do most judges prefer to see you sitting to a canter (in english) or rising slightly with it?

hey
in new zealand(whre i live)they prefer u 2 sit 2 it otherwise it kinda looks like u don't know how 2 canter!!lol u shud jst ask

Good luck! Fingers crossed you and your friends do well!

I've always been told to sit the canter as well- leaning forward tends to make the horse speed up. (Plus, I think you look like a jockey, not a hunter.)

omg gurl u have to help me with the key hole i stink so baad with it i can get my horse to pivit when i turn him to go back my show is one june 13 so if u have ne thing i mean ne it will make a diffeence plz tell me thanks <3 amber

The show went great! Here are my results:

Showmanship: 2nd
Grooming: 2nd
English Equitation: 1st (i was the only rider)
Western Horsemanship: 2nd
Judging: 4th
Barrels: 1st
Poles: 2nd
Keyhole: 1st

Grand Champion Senior
Grand Aggregate

I had a lot of fun and was so proud of how Babe was. Although she was very heavy on the forehand, I was still proud. Can't be perfect, right? :P

I will hopefully have pictures tomorrow!

about that cantering position the only time you post/1.2 seat is when you are in a hack class and they tell you to hand gallop or between fences on a jump course/hunter.
