Just an interesting subject, I wondered if these were horses with reg'd names that owners don't like, or unregistered horses.
Lore asked something similar below, in "Please explain", and I know for a show that registry doesn't matter, you can use any name you want. I was just thinking that most people with reg'd horses normally use the reg'd name in any kind of competition intentionally, because it often reflects the horse's pedigree.

There are alot of unregistered horses that have excellent winning show records. Open shows, alot of the english disciplines simply do not base the show entry requirement on pedigree registration. The horses are judged on their personal abilities and performance in the show not the abilities or DNA of their parentage.
