Hello,

First thing is first always make sure when you bath your horse that the sun is out so they dont get a chil, make sure you use horse shampoo damp the coat down with a hose then gentle rub in the shampoo leaving the shampoo in for at least 3-4 min then rinse, do the same with tail making sure you comb it through gently though as pulling on the tail could hurt. Try baby oil on the tail and maine after using Maine and Tail spray this will shine really nicely. i think to be honest most judges like to see the horse nateral, keeping the maine down with out plaits and also the tail. If your horse has any white slodges on him use whit chulk to make it stand out, when you have finished washing your horse, bandage his legs so he dont get poo stains and other dirty bits on him, hope this is enough info i think this is what sort of stuff you wanted to know, good luck mate!!

also to keep your tail neater braid it in a reg. braid and put it in a tail bag (make sure its dry or else it will get wavy) for the mane you can get one of those sleezy sleeper things (if its not to hot) hope it helped!mere

make sure you oil your horse's hooves before applying hoof black. This can help prevent hooves from becoming too dry. Make sure you apply the oil before washing as the oil can penetrate better.

A quick unpick for sewing is a very handy tool for removing rubber bands or waxed thread from plaited manes and tails.

Just a few off the top of my head
