should I be concerned?

Dakota has a cut on the front of his cannon bone on his left fore leg (I think) A few years ago he got caught up in a tree and totally scratched up his leg and his owner was going to have him euthanized. The cut is on the same leg and there is dried blood around where the cut is. Should I be concerned? Or should I just wash it up and leave it at that.

Thanks!

Wash it and watch it. Clean it daily. If you start to see any ooze or heat, or he turns up really lame, then call the vet.

That's what I would do anyway!

Treat it the same as you would treat yourself, basically. It doesn't sound too serious. If it looks harmless, does not feel hot, swollen, leaking puss or causing lameness - then I would just give it a wash and let it be.

Yeah, it just looks like he skinned himself on a log during the crazy thunderstorm last night. If the owners were to come out though they'd probably have a cow and give me a lecture on how important it is that he stays healthy (they're nuts)

Thanks!! I'll go out and hose it off.
