Shiny coats

Show season is coming and my boy still has that rough look to his coat my first show is in april! (eek!) and he's still loosing hair any ideas on how to make it mad shiny (its my first paly show! wanna look nice) oh and does anyone know where i can get some good chaps i outgrew mine =(

Groom and groom and more grooming. If you have a shedding tool that will help to get the hair that is ready to release off.

It takes alot of labor of grooming but i do use a coat supp. on my mare for her tail and mane and it does make her coat shiny, but i doubt you can find it its called "shin en win"

i got some nice chaps at the equine affaire that were really cheap...but unless it is in town i dont know what to tell you. and all i can say about getting a nice shiny coat is to groom...a LOT!

I agree with everyone - a lot of elbow grease will do a lot of good (and grooming stones work great!)... having said that, I do feed my horse MirraCoat and groud up flax seed. It's fairly inexpensive and I noticed a HUGE difference in my horse's coat all year round... he has his winter woolies and his coat is still shiny I have always groomed him daily for half an hour to an hour (depending on what I have time to do), so his coat was never that dull, but it didn't have as much of a natural glow as I wanted it to... I started him on the MirraCoat and Flax seed about 2-3 years ago, and it convinced me enough that I won't let him go without it I've also noticed that since feeding it to him he sheds out faster and easier than he did before.

ok whats a grooming stone???? I agree with lots of elbow grease and clean brushes of the right type.My horse is on biotin so his coats shines all the time.Costs alot though.But his shoes stay on.So lots of hard work-have a great show.

i have a gelding first off lol and he's a palomino qh his coat is almost white and when he sheads he sheads but i want it to lay like it did last summer scott used something but now he cant remember!
