*She's home #131**update #44 dead foal* Never say it can't be possible!

My mare has blood on her behind... It looks like it's a day old or so.. I called the vet and he is close by and will be here in about three hours.

My next door neighbor comes over to see whats up and I tell him the vet is coming out and that Sugar has a myterious bloody behind. He then tells me maybe she is having her foal...

I tell him you need a Daddy to become a Mommy... Then he tells me that last year (he thinks May or June, not sure) the hispanic family up the road had to come and get there Andalusion colt (then 2 year old) out of my pasture..

WHAT!?!?!?!!!!!

I am flaming fumiing MAD!!! I have just walke down there and no one is there that can understand english. THey do understand I am despewratly needing to talk to the dad/husband... The daughter (I think) is calling him. I gave her my cell to have him call me...

HOW CAN YOU NOT TELL SOMEONE YOUR HORSE WAS ION THEIR PASTURE???

Now it could be that this has nothing to do with a breeding.... but now that I am looking at her does it look like she has a belly to you???

well, blood is definitly not normal part of heat.

You may be pending a foal.

if you are....and since you have a neighbor that witnessed the other neighbors stud being in your paddock, I'd sue them for any and all vet costs.

That is rediculous that they didn't inform you of it.

good that the vet is coming. Because if she isn't pregnant, a gelding could have penetrated and torn her, she could have rubbed up on something and it penetrated and made a small tear....

she may be pending foaling soon....is she bagging.....

Oh my...

That happened to a girl at my barn- luckily, the stud was a very expensive warmblood. She took the stud's owner to court, and they had to pay for DNA testing, board through weaning, all the resulting vet bills, and the registration!

Unbelievable. If they had told you when it happened you could have had the baby pinched (if there was one). I would be fuming mad.

She does look a bit on the portly side Cyn. Has she gained this weight over the past months or is this the norm?

Also is that only dried blood? Or could there be scratches under there? Maybe she is not pregnant and was itching her hiney on something and scratched the bejeeezus out of her rump. Her vulva looks a tiny bit swollen too.

I would be ticked too if a neighbors horse got mine pregnant, cause their horse got out.

I really do hope your horse is okay.
