SHE'S HERE!!!! And even naughtier then they said but about what I expected, LOL... Lexi DID load in the trialer like a dream, rode just fine and unloaded easily. Let me change out her regular halter into a new rope halter I picked up today just for her, NO problem. Led her up through my side yard past the naughty barking dogs, NO PROBLEM, past the back hoe and Hobby Cat, NO PROBLEM, looked at stuff be wasn't overly worried. Walked calmly into her stall (well OK actually PONCHO's stall on lone until I can get her doors fortified like his)and out into the paddock, then lead rope off... Fine as silk.

She came up to get some scratches on her neck that was fine, munching away at her hay. I go to walk people back to their rig and then back up the truck and trailer for the lady cause she can't back (HOW and WHY do people pull trailers if they can't BACK them???? one of life's mystries to me, LOL) we all say bye and let's keep in touch via email. GREAT.

Go call Roger tell him she's here and safely ensconced up at the barn, call neighbor to say she's here, come and see her tomorrow, etc, then go back up to barn to say night, just 'visit' with her and give her an apple. WELL she was fine until I went to scratch her neck... Squeal like a stud colt, low strike then turns but and WHAM WHam striaght out double kicking and dents on the wall... SIGH... Yup, she's a project! LOL BUT she's HERE and she's OUR Project!!!!

For anyone who is interested or cares she's sired by AQHA HOT ATTRACTION and is out of ApHC ZIP LIKA MERCEDES. I know Arab pedigrees better then QH and ApHC or APHA but I did see Hot Attraction in person as he is standing at stud near my parents home.

Was too dark tonight to get photos will drag camera out first thing tomorrow!

Quite a nice horse I would say. Looks like you will have your work cut out for you, but so worth it! So glad everything worked out in the end. I personally think you stole the filly. Even if she is never ridable, what a bood mare! Good for you.

Thanks everyone! I was thinking she's was pretty much a steal as well Belle! I am not as educated on the QH/Appy/Paint pedigrees as I am Arabs and TB's but Hot Attraction I saw in person and he's beautiful and a total SWEETIE and apparently it's a GOOD thing genetically to not have Impressive too much or at all in a pedigree these days due to the HYPP issue, although I do know that HERDA is linked back to Poco Bueno.

I am so BUMMED to not get photos up yet guys! I'd really like honest feed back on her as far as how she stacks up breed wise. Conformationally she has great legs, nice shoulder, nice hip and croup and good neck. I personally think her head is a bit plain but I am an old ARAB girl, LOL. Feet are in terrible shape right now, needs to be put on nutrition for hoof growth (happening later today) needs shoes taken off and hoof allowed to grow out... Besides when you kick why would you HAVE shoes on your back feet? and when you STRIKE (although she's not terribly serious with that) you don't need them on the front either!

This morning Lexi learned that when I come up to the stall and your paddock door is open and I say OUT, I mean GET Your BEHIND OUT THAT OPEN DOOR! LOL... She's been allowed to run the HUMAN out of HER STALL up to this point, UGH! Not at THIS house. I have a rule... Door Open to paddock, you calmly walk out that door when I walk in the stall, then turn and wait at the doorway for instructions. Door closed you come up to the stall door and calmly wait for lead rope. I've been pinned in a stall with a loose horse exactly ONCE! I learned to teach them and myself some rules of conduct so to speak, LOL. Right now Lex is out in my big 1/4 acre front paddock with 2 5 ms old ram lambs to keep her company. She's apparently afraid of horses but I can tell you she doesn't mind dogs or lambs at all, LOL.

BTW she has about 5 hairs for a forelock and about 30 for a mane that are only about 6 inches long at best, any ideas for encouraging, stimulating more growth? I know some Appy's just don't grow mane and tail, although her tail is thick, but not too much longer then her hocks.

Did I miss something Karyn? I didn't even know you found another good "project!" lol, the heat must be getting to me! I'm so excited for you! She sounds like she has a LOT of potential if you ask me, and I do believe you're exactly the right person to bring that potential into actuallity!

I feel for you with the fore lock thing. Buddy has about 15 hairs! lol, a bit more than her, but very short and hardly noticable!
