Yes Spy, I have my work cut out for me but I knew that in advance and thats' why she was CHEAP! I figured that I was SOL on the mane thing... I've seen TOO many Appy's that have very little mane and tail, etc... at least she has tail!!! LOL... Yes she has scelera and mottling on her face... I took some good close ups of her head, or I HOPE they were good, I haven't used the 35mm in so LONG! LOL..

Her official color is listed as bay roan, but she doesn't have the black points on her legs or mane that you usually identify with a bay, she's more of a chocolate brown roan IMO... NO Chrome... Which I really like Chrome as well, so to me she's more of the Plain jane modle,LOL... NO white on face or legs whatsoever. She has, what I THINK is termed a snowcap? the white is from the point of him down the croup and and down as far as her flank area... I don't think it's enough to be termed blanket. She has several big spots on her rump area and then the dark mottling on her face and on her muzzle.

She's about 14.3-15 hands I believe from eyeballing her, about the same height as Poncho. Not so far to hit the ground from, ROTFL... REALLY good body. Straight legs, nice shoulder, straight, strong back and loin area. I can't fault her yet conformationally. Needs some muscling and with more work a bit more weight but is actually in nice weight right now, not skinny but not fat, but with the work she'll be getting I'll pump some rice bran into her and possibly a bit of strategy, apparently she's a very easy keeper according to her former owners. Her feet are in HORRID shape right now, I'm waiting to hear from the farrier who last did her, hopefully he'll be willing to come pull this blinking shoes off and trim up her toes. She needs to go the winter out of shoes IMO, plus, if they're kickers, I don't understand why you'd put rear shoes on them unless needed for corrective purposes anyway... It's NOTl like she was being ridden in the Mtn's etc. GO figure, LOL.

Wow!! I shake your hand and cheer for you on a great first day! You have started right off telling her whats what and that will make things SO much easier. And besides, isn't it a bit fun to be able to spank her and put her in her place when she seemed to be having so much fun misbehaving! muahha, lol, hope all continues well!

OH Tim I am laughing so hard right now my sides hurt! LOLOLOLOL... I am pretty sure that after this evening's ROUND # 2 (story to follow shortly, see ADVENTURES With Lexi in General in a min) Lexi is pretty much convinced she's died and gone to ....HORSE PURGATORY! LOLOLOLOLOLOL She's not quite a 'steer' yet but she's also not exactly Charlene in Charge and is having a DICKENS of a time figuring out WHY, LOLOL... I gave her SEVERAL speaches today... the #1 refrain was "we do NOT do that at THIS HOUSE! Capice????" and the #2 was "EXCUSE ME???? and WHO do you THINK I AM???" LOLOLOLOL My neighbor the vet got home from work to take over kid duty and sat on his porche with the kids and a cold drink in hand to watch the new 'entertainment' LOLOLOL We're NOT stage shy around here! LOL and YES I pretty much live life at 90mph or better at all times, HATE it if there's not enough activity to keep my sorry self out of trouble, LOL...
