I feel for you with the fore lock thing. Buddy has about 15 hairs! lol, a bit more than her, but very short and hardly noticable!

Congratulations!

OH, YAY! I thought maybe that was the case when you mentioned the small forelock thing again! Congrats!

Yup for $500 and $60 in transport Lexi is here! She IS a handful, spoiled ROTTEN litterally, but I've already made some progres. She learned about an hour ago that when I see GET OUT OF HERE you best BOOK it or you'll not be ASKED twice, you will be SHOWN "GET OUTA HERE"! LOL... She's learned it is much nicer to go graze in the pasture then hang off my gate and pull at my lead rope tied around for extra latch security, LOL. She's not a dull witted gal, you can see her little pea brain wheels turning away at full speed! LOL

As long as she doesn't kick my head in first! LOL... seriously though, I think as soon as we establish some GROUND rules, litterally, and RESPECT, that kicking will tone down considerably. AT least I HOPE SO< LOLOL... Brains? I don't HAVE any to damage I suppose, ROTFL

ROTFL. LOL, you crack me up Karyn! hehe. Yes, kicking is definitely probaby one of the FIRST things you want to get corrected. Leave more in tact brain cells for the rest of training that way!

Whew,... Just came in about 20 mins ago from an hour and a half session of CATCH THE APPY... ahhhhhh... Gotta love MOVING your hiney in 80 degree weather with 95-98 percent humidity... SWEAT off those BORED pounds, LOLOL...

So went out to catch Lexi so I could put fly wipe on her face cause the flies were ganging up on her pretty good and she went snort, squeel, turn your butt and kick at me... OK, fine, you have that much energy, let's play RUN and RUN and TROT and TROT until you don't wanna move any more and THEN MOVE SOME MORE.... Around and around the field we went (this is a 300 x 300 paddock, doesn't seem HUGE until you're keeping a horse moving on the outside edge of it! LOL) every time she'd try to stop or come into close to me, WHACK on the ground we'd go... Every time she'd try to KICK at me, WHACK on her RUMP we'd go, LOL... Twice on her rump was enough, she put her feet back where they belonged, ON the ground! LOL... The look of utter SHOCK on her face when someone told her 'Uh NO we don't PLAY like that at THIS house,' was I must say, PRICELESS, LOL!

I let her stop in a corner and waited to see if she was ready to be caught yet... Nope turned her head away from me to the outside, did not want to turn into look at me or face me at all, so OK Let's GO some more... Sweat, huff, puff, (that was ME btw, LOL) around and around we go for some more ,... Nice and sweaty we both are now...I push her back to the same corner (AWAY from the gate, LOL) DO you wanna be caught NOW? This time she stops and turns her neck and head intowards me and does a bit of lick and chewing, and lowers her head some... OK looks like you're ready to give up this game or run 'free'... Up I walk and snap on the 12' lead... Then as we're walking she tries to sit in my back pocket, I ask her to get off, she Squeels at me, pins ears back and pops up her butt and switches her tail... OK, guess you're NOT tired after all, SO let's LUNGE ON a MILD HILL, at a LOPE on a 12' line OH and there is NO PULLING ALLOWED... SO around and around we go (until I was going YIKES I'm dizzy!) then switch directions, she made that transition for 2 strides then pinned her ears and ACTED like she was going to come straight at me, so WHACK with the stick on her shoulder, GET AROUND! and back in the direction I wanted her to go... She tried that 'charge down' routine exactly twice, decided getting smacked on the shoulder wasn't worth it and stayed in the correct direction. She and I WORKED our behinds off, in the end if I said TROT she instantly fell into the trot, WALK, instantly walk CANTER, instant gait change and smooth directional transistions... She's really very athletic considering we were on uneven ground and I'm sure she's never done any work outside of an arena. Then a long walk cooling out where she stayed off me loosly at the end of the 12' line and stoped when I turned my body into and looked at her hip.

Today was ALOT easier then I feared it might be, WHOOPY! I noticed that the kicking calmed RIGHT down as soon as she realized it wasn't working to buffalo me into running the opposite direction. She also learned that if she runs the lambs scatter away from her, LOL. After I got her cooled down and let her have a nice drink, I finally got that fly wipe on her face and neck... "See, silly, this is all I wanted to do, we did NOT need to SWEAT so much!" LOL.

I took some photos with the 35mm and will get them back tomorrow from developing, so will post photos of my naughty girl tomorrow... Maybe it's her name... Wasn't Lexi the BAD person in Dynasty????? LOLOLOLOL
