Shedding out coat

Queeny has sheded out her coat on her neck and butt, but her body is still fuzzy. Clipping is NOT an option with her (she's HORRIFIED of clippers). I curry the **** out of her a couple times a week. Any other advice on shedding it out quicker? Thanks in advanced.

You could use a shedding blade!

I've heard that you can deworm your horse for 5 days in a row, and the hair will come out easily, but I don't know...that kind of creeps me out. But they also say you can over-worm your horse. It still doesn't go over well with me!

My horse is the exact opposite. He sheds his middle first then his butt and neck. LOL!!! Not sure if there is anything you can do about it or not.

I use a shedding blade and a Slick and Easy and they seem to help the shedding process right along.

Skip sheds on his neck first, butt second, and belly last... if I don't clip him his blaze neve sheds out, and he has little white hairs shedding all over everything all year... I definitely would not worm your horse 5 days in a row, unless of course it is a daily dewormer which they should get every day...

If it's warm enough bathe I always find that my horse sheds MUCH better after a bath - the pores are clean and the hair comes out easier. I just did 2 baths today (only my horse is getting body clipped on Sunday ). If you have hot water available, wash with that rather than cold... it opens the pores up Other than that, currying (make sure that your curry isn't dull... I really like the Groom Jr's, but I can go through up to 3 in a year for one horse because they get dull), shedding blades, and Slick 'N Easy/Groomer's stones work well

Go get them warmed up. The hair folicles open up enough and they shed right out pretty darn quickly.
