Shedding

So far I only have one shedding horse, but its the worst too. Barrate's coat is so thick and long, but all the others have nice short, thin coats. I figure I might as well get rid of all her hair so we can clip her later, that just means I have to figure out where her blankets dissapeared to!

Not much, it's still cold here some days and really cold most nights..

But Dinah is shedding where she is not clipped, she has quite thick fur. Ace isn't but she has a lot thinner coat that Dinah. I hope she does soon, I can't wait for her beautiful, totally un faded jet black thin coat to come through!

LOL, Lindsayanne...I have two and they are shedding like mad! This is my first shed (first winter, spring w/ horses) and since I live in Maine and it still will get very cold and snow I keep telling mine to STOP too!!!

Mine just started shedding laast week. My mare is shedding more then my gelding but she grew more of a coat then he did this winter.

My guy started about two months ago. Hes under lights until 10pm, so that helps. Its a mess and I spends hours trying to get it off. But Im glad he his, shows start full force next month, he needs to be slick.

My girl hasn't but she's getting itchy and that's the first sign of it!

My guys are shedding like crazy too, My oldest gelding (28) sheds the most and will have the most beautiful dapples under his winter coat.

Raps started shedding the other day. Itll be couple weeks before he hits Cat-ina-Blender phase tho.
