Post She is home

We got her home with no problems. She's gained alot of weight since they put her on a green pasture. Here are the pictures - didn't put my signature on them because I'm way too tired.

This is what she looked like 1 month ago:

Yeah, I love dapples too. She REALLY wasn't happy about those other horses checking her out. She was very grumpy because in 1 month her previous owners hauled her to North Dakota, Colorado, and Virginia. She's exhausted and just wants to be left alone.

She didn't seem to remember us or the other horses UNTIL I whistled the others in from the pasture with the very unique whistle we've always done. She snapped her head up, perked those ears forward and let out a 40 acre bellow. She KNEW that whistle from when she was a baby. After that she seemed much more comfortable and was even getting snuggly with me instead of being so grumpy and stand offish.

She has the same stall she did as a youngster and the same buddy in the stall next door. She settled right in to her hay, and 7 years later, she still does what she used to: grab a bite of hay, turn around, stick her nose out the window, chew it up, go get another bite of hay, etc.

Glad to hear she's settling in.

Because they're retired and that's what they do - travel with the horses. They'll haul 8 hours one way just to go on a trail ride for 2 days and then haul home. Nearly every weekend they haul the horses somewhere.

When we picked her up today, they told us she logged 10,000 miles in the trailer in one year. She even went to LasVegas and performed at the Excalibur hotel.

Wow, what a difference that last month made. I can only imagine what a month in your hands will do! What a happy ending for her (and you of course)

Prayers answered!
