Share your " Once in a life time horse(s)"

I think almost all of us have come across our "once in a lifetime horse(s)". It could be more than 1. Share your stories and photos, and tell me why!

I've been blessed to have had these two horses in my life at one time. They kinda look the same lol. Can you tell I like chestnuts?

- Sebastian. He is def. my top one, I learned so much from him. He was put down a few years ago, I still think about him all of the time. I only owned him for 10 months, but it was the best 10 months ever. He always stepped on my foot when I tightened the girth It still makes me laugh when I share that story with people. He was quite an aonry 13 year old

- Willow. The most amazing mare I've ever met. She was so forgiving, just her overall personality. I had to give up leasing her before college, shes now in a wonderful home. She helped me with the grieveing of Sebastian, I met her on the same day as I did sebastian, they also have the SAME birthday, but he was older.

my once in a life time horse, would hve to be the first horse i've ever owned... Chief

I had been riding my whole life, but when I got chief, my world turned upside down, and it was like a whole new world! He tought me all kinds of things, the first thing he taught me was to ride bare back, but man he's irreplacable (spelling?!) but I love him. Heres his pick.

sorry about your baby that you had to put down :-(

Aww, your horses are cute! They do look similar and their bdays are the same day... weird!

My once-in-a-lifetime horse has to be my welsh pony mare, Jessy. She has so much personality and she's SO much fun to ride. I had been looking for a big 16.3h TB and ended up with a little 13.3h welsh pony

Here she is:

Stanley is my once in a life time horse. There was that instant connect between us when I first saw him. He's taught me a lot and helped me get my confidence back. He took care of me, but also taught me what I was doing wrong by dumping me quite a bit. And even when he was in soooo much pain from a horrible saddle fit, he tried his hardest to do what I asked of him and stay sound for an event. He has always been my shoulder to cry on. Whenever I'm upset, I look to him for comfort, he's always made me feel better. I couldn't have asked for a better horse, or a better pet.

Mr Jazzman of course! But he's the only horse I've ever had haha so I don't know if this counts. I've could have sold him many times during the past 4 years and bought myself a reg purebred push button machine, but of course I didn't! He is soooo willing to do absolutely anything. He taught me everything I know and we've learned a lot together, mostly by trial and error and loooads of clinics and lessons. He's just a sweetheart, I wouldn't trade my little boy for the world. I love everything about him, especially his big soft eyes, he's very expressive with them.

Here's my favourite boy in the whole word!

Okay, so I know everyone thinks that the horse they one is there once in a life time horse. But I have NEVER connected with a horse this fast or like this EVER. I have never had a horse actually whinny after me when I leave the barn, or let me do things with her and no one else, or act like I am really her mommy. I know she loves me, and I have never felt like that before. Every morning I leave her stall door open when I am there, and people freak out "Oh no! She's going to get out!" and I reply that as long as I am there Jazzie won't go anywhere, and if she does, she won't take 2 steps away from me. I can take her out without a halter and lead rope and she will follow me and when she is in turnout she won't run unless I am running too. She has the best mindset of any yearling I have ever even heard of, and everyone at my barn says the same. She is SO gentle with anyone and I would trust her with a little two year old walking her around. I would trust her with my life, and I am sure she feels the same way in return. She is definatly the best girl I have ever owned, and cost me the least, $450 at only 6 1/2 months old. She came right out of the pasture to me, and I think she thought that I was taking place of her mom so she tried her best to make me happy. She has the kindest eye and everyone that meets her (or sees her pictures ) loves her. I love this girl, and I think I will keep her forever.

My once in a lifetime horse was Pete. As an older(56) returnee to horses, I wanted safe, sane and sound. Almost everyone would say Pete was a deadhead, more whoa then go, which was true. To me he was my perfect horse. He was HE after foundering and dropping his coffin bones down to the floor of his hoof.
I still puddle up when I think of Pete.

RIP my friend until we ride the trails together on the other side.
