Seminole Wellness Perform Safe vs. Triple Crown Senior

I am thinking of switching to seminole, due to availablity and proximity. Horse is question is currently on 9 lbs/daily of TC senior, 1 lb boss, free choice medium quality pasture and about 20 lbs of Timothy/Orchard hay/day. She is difficult to keep weight on, at this point in her life. She is a 13 year old TB in little to no work.

Here is Perform safe:

Here is TC Senior:

Thanks!

I don't know anything about Seminole - but I can tell you my horses are doing great on the TC Senior.

I also love TC senior for my guy. The girl at my barn feeds the seminole to her 5 year old and he seems to do just fine on it, but i dont think he has any problem keeping weight.

IMO, I would stick with the TC as well. IT's a higher fat/protein which if your mare is having weight issues, would benefit her better. I noticed that you feed just grass hay. If theres no medical reason why she cant have alfalfa, I would add that to her diet to help her maintain/gain some weight as well.

Thanks for all the replies - I've used triple crown products for the past several years and have been happy with them overall - my only issue (and its not huge) is the inconcistency in quality.

Has anyone actually fed Seminole Perform Safe? If so, I would love to hear your thoughts

Alfalfa hay is next to impossible to get down here, and the stuff I can get is really crappy quality. I had her on A-pellets for a while but she isn't crazy about them. I might try adding them in again after I get her feed situation figured out. Makes me miss CA where alfalfa hay was just as common (if not more!) then grass hay.

Thanks for the input!

Hmmm, when you say inconsistency in the TC, what are we talking about? That surprises me about TC. I would take a good look at the date code on the bags. Could be a prob with the feed store, and not TC.

Seminole is regionally distruted which also mean regionally balanced...

I am starting to hear that alot about the TC being inconsistent, I think part of it is that TC doesn't always make it's own products.

I fed Perform Safe for a couple months, and LOVED it. Here is the thread on Jamie's progress, which, granted was not all due to the Perform Safe, but it explains pretty well my situation. The pics from Feb 1 to April 1 was the time he was on the PS. Then after that, we had to switch to the Ultium.

Jamie's weight progress...
