Saddlebred Gait Help

I was linging Sheza and noticed some weird gait she was doing, she was really extended, reaching out, and was in a trot. The weird thing was that it looked like she was heisitaning with her front foot, so it was like two beats for the one foot, then normal in the back. Anbody know what she is doing???

Could simply be lameness. The extra gaits of the saddlebred are very distinct, which leads me to believe that this is not the case here. The slow gait is basically trotting in the front and walking in the back (but you mentioned it was only one foot). The rack is incredibly fast and would almost scare an unexpecting rider, so it is not likely that either. I would say its just a big open trot... if she was 5 gaited she would have traceable gaited lines (Ie. 5g parents)

I know she is not lame, I think it was probably an extanded trot, she had longer strides then normal.

Thanks

Without seeing a photo and going only by what you said...yes, it most likely is.... and possibly could be..... an extended trot...IF there are 2 beats to the gait...if there are 4 beats the horse could be slipping into some sort of rack or singlefoot. (A "beat" happens when ever a foot hits the ground.)

This is a trot:

This is an extended trot:
