Saddle Tree

If he hasn't been ridden in that long, maybe his back changed shape so that the saddle doesn't fit?

Also, first place I'd check is teeth / mouth / bit if the problem is head tossing. Does he still toss his head if ridden without the saddle?

Tack collector, thanks for the advice, but right now my horse is not being ridden because all I have is a broken bridle and a broken saddle. Also, the saddle fits, his teeth have been done, etc.

Right now I just need advice on my saddle, I was not asking for advice on why my horses head was tossing. Not to sound rude/mean but I've been around horses since I was 11... I know more than the basics.

Anyways, I'm taking my saddle to a few tack stores around the area today to see what they say.

Well, I took my saddle to two tack shops today. The first lady said that it was probably the mechanics of a spring tree, and not to worry about it.

The second lady said that it was just normal wear and tear and if I was still concerned to have a saddle fitter look at it.

So I guess I was just worring about nothing lol.

I'm still going to do a bit more research though. I did look at used courbette spring tree saddles online and about 75% of them had the grooves like mine

That is so odd. Maybe they are just like that?

I know my trainer used to have a courbette and hated it so she traded it in for an HDR i think. (which in my opinion isnt much better)
