Saddle Pops Up Behind

I have a Big Horn half synthetic saddle that I haven't been using for quite awhile (about a year and a half) because I was pretty sure it didn't fit. When it sat on her cinched up with a light pad on underneath the back of the saddle poped up about 1.5" off her back. Of course when I would sit in it would rest on her back.

So my question It is a very lightweight saddle, and the back isn't nearly as heavy as the front. Is it possible that the saddle could have actually fit her? It was just set off kilter when the cinch was done up?

I'm just wondering if it would be a total waste dragging the thing out to the barn to try it out again.

Oh and I don't plan on using the saddle until I get it professionally checked. I like to do a basic check before I get the pros out though Besides I have a nice Billy Cook that I use now instead.

So is there a possibility that it fits or does the poping up in the back mean it is a definate no go?

All help is appreciated

ETA: This is the saddle, see how much lighter the back looks (and it) in comparison to the front.

If it is doing that on the horses back, and you have it sitting correctly, with the bars about a finger or two behind the point of the shoulder, it is too wide.

Think of it this way, if it is too narrow, it will perch up in front, too wide, it will sit down too far. A saddle that fits properly, really should sit pretty level before the rider mounts. That is your answer bundled in a small and neat package, but of course there is way more to it than that. You still should get a saddle fitter out(a good one) to see if you are placing it properly, and to look at all saddles when you are unsure.

Thanks

I took the saddle out to the barn to check it again, worth a try right?

Well I figured out why it didn't fit It was incredibly narrow on her. It was so narrow on her that it didn't even sit down on her back. The ends of the bars sat right up on her. It was very obvious it didn't fit.

Sorry this is the best I can explain it. but it looked something like this.
