Sad Video - Adopt a Pet

Warning this video is graphic somewhat. I just thought that this video is a good way to really get the point across that people should adopt pets. Not posting this to start any debates, its just something I found on a shelters website.

The fate of a dog

Omg, thats really sad. My dog is from the shelter, and throughout the entire video I thought of her as being that dog. All my friends have purebreed dogs bought from breeders, and one of them is buying one from a breeder soon. I tried to convince one of my friends to get from a shelter, but her parents were against it because of all the made up junk about how diseased unhealthy, and tempermental shelter dogs are. The same thing is happenign with my friend who is getting a dog, WHY ON EARTH do some people not get it through their heads that there is nothing wrong with a shelter dog. Ahh..it just bugs me so much. My friend believes the same thing, she outright insulted my dog because she is from a shelter and is a mutt.

oh my gosh that is so sad! i disagree with putting them in bags and dumping them in a landfill.

They should be put into a big furness and cremated instead of in a plastic bag!!

poor puppy he was so cute!! i would have taken him!!

Many of the so called breeders that a lot of people buy there purebred dogs from are actually BYB's which means that it is more likely that their purebred is the one who is a junk dog who will have diseases (as they do not do genetic testing) and personality problems (many of them allow puppies to go home before they are even 8 weeks old... between the age of 6 and 8 to 10 weeks is when the puppy gets a lot of socialization from its mother. As in taught not tobite and how to act correctly.) So maybe you should ask them where they are buying their purebreds from lol see if its a real show breeder or just a BYB or puppymill. Not to mention there are tons of purebreds in shelters and rescues and dogs with big personality problems do not get put out for adoption... they get euthenized.

I know that one of my friends (the one who insulted my dog) got her Pomeranian from a BYB, and she bred her to another dog from a BYB even though her dog doens't even have a show record. She isn't spayed now either. My other 2 friends got their purebreeds from big breeders, one shipped hers in from California, and he is the worst behaved dog I have met. Runs all over them, he has a major dominance issue.

Both my kitties are strays.

I think they are more affectionate and grateful than purebred cats

And yes they both have been spayed

im kind of curious as to where they got the information from because there are thousands of no kill shelters. and alot of the time dogs are given to them to find no homes. granted yes there are many dogs that do get put to sleep. but there are thousands that dont. i personally think this is another one of those videos that just want people to feel bad. when really this doesnt always happen.

Lucky... my two are both strays but have some issues. One we found on teh road as a kitten, someone had thrown her out of their car. She hates me... she hisses at me all teh time unless I have food or if I am sitting on the ocuch. I think she has some brain damage. The other one was a stray who kept hanging around our old place so eventually I just brought her inside and we kept her lol. She is friendly but very shy and skittish. She was pregnant when we took her in (which we didn't realize until she started getting awfully large) and she had 4 healthy kittens. All 4 we found wonderful homes for and one is even my best friends cat. After she had the kittens she was spayed. Rocky was spayed as a kitten when we found her.
