Ryan Gingerich?

What are your thoughts about him? What do you like/dislike about him?

I was watching him on RFDTV today and wasn't that impressed. But I do have to say it was the first time I've ever seen/herd of him.

He was working with a big grey tb with loading on a trailer. The horse got away from him twice. And before that he talked about what he was going to do for half the episode.

I've only seen his show a handful of times, and I just really didn't like him. I don't really know what it is about him, but I just wasn't impressed with him.

I watched the same show and also was not impressed. I have seen many a trailer loading problem and I did not like the way he handled this horse. To me he seemed to only confuse the horse, and being dragged away with a rope by the horse is just silly.

He seems like a very nice guy but I do not feel he has what it really takes to handle them in a proper way.

This is so funny you posted this.... I can not put my finger on why, but I do not like this guy. He rubs me the wrong way, and to be fair, I can't say why! I cant watch his show.

I loved how he knocked other trainers for using a rope halter. HA The horse I'm working with now practically draged you with a regular halter, then I switched to a rope and I could see a world of difference. The horse WANTED to load, but it looked like there was no where to go. I was lmao when the horse got away from him TWICE!

Ooooo, I've seen this guy.

He calls himself a trainer and is great enough to merit his own TV show?

Forget college, I'm gonna make big bucks in the horse biz.

How funny that you all have said nearly the same thing...I was just talking to hubby after watching him a couple of weeks ago how "I really just don't like this guy!" There is just something "missing", like it's a fluke! I'd love to see all of the footage before editing....

I get a little wary about the "behaviorist" label he's given himself too...

Actually, he calls himself a "behavorist" which IMO is not apples and ornges - I think he's trying to distinguish himself from the pack of trainers we normally see. Which is a great foundation in advertising.

I saw him work with the big, uuuugly bay who wouldn't trail ride, and after about 3 minutes he took him back to the ring, showed the very bad rider/owner what to do (very little) and told her to make her arena the "Trail."

She needed more work than the horse!!!!! Oh well, everybody's got a right, I suppose to promote him/herself.
