Ryan Bell forgot to ship my items

I was approached online by a person claiming to be Ryan Bell of Kings Mountain North Carolina. "Ryan" was answering my online add to trade my new, unused dressage bridle for used jumping boots and a set of polo wraps to which I agreed. I sent mine and Ryan never sent theirs. I have sent emails galore. Ryan claims they forgot, or were out of town and just got back and that they will be sure to send it the next day etc... You know the speel. It has now been a month.

I have no bridle, no bling browband (on the bridle) AND I PAID to ship it priority!

Be very careful.... posting info like this, even if its true, can come back to bite you in the butt legally.

You may want to reconsider posting this.

So annoying! I sent a money order off to someone on HGS about 6 weeks ago, and now they won't answer PMs, and haven't sent my stuff.

I hope you have better luck and your things show up!

She has said nothing inflamatory in her post, just posted facts. I don't see anything in her post, should it be proven to be false information, that could be seen as inflamatory or slanderous.

I believe her, I'm just saying she's taking a risk. Posting stuff like this, whether its true or not can get you into a legal mess...thats all I'm saying.

No, it can't. The only way you can be sued for libel/slander is if you say/write information you KNOW to be false with the intent of doing someone harm. AND that person has to PROVE real damages from your spoken/written words.

People like to threaten libel/slander lawsuits all the time, but most lawyers won't touch them because they are too hard to pove in court, at least criminally. Civil suits can be easier to win, but again, you have to show actual damages to your business or job. You can't just sue because your feelings got hurt. Well you can, but you won't get anywhere, lol.

Well I say that if they rip people off throw their names out so it doesnt happen to someone else. I dont know whats happened to honest people. If they would at least contact you and say its gonna be awhile. At least they are talking to you. But why answer an add or sign up for something if you dont have plans to follow through.
Where's Judge Judy when you need her

Thats not true at all!!!

But YES, you do have to PROVE real damages...but that doesn't mean they can file a claim. And, it costs the defendent money to defend themselves even if they are innocent.

Is it really worth the trouble?
