Rubs on my saddle.

okay, so my saddle is deffinatly NOT top of the line... its pretty cheap, but its leather and it works. its a Griffith brand havana saddle and where my stirrup leathers rub its getting hideously discoloured...

is there any way to fix this fading?

L & R Farms

Not much. If it is a brown color you can try oiling and paying more attention to the rubbed area. Also, leather dye....but it will rub off. You can take a look at www.angelfire.com/trek/landrfarms to get some price ideas.

other than what luttrellfarms mentioned, there isn't much more you can do. Just try oiling that area and it may possibly "darken" it a tad, blend in a bit nicer. Be thankful your leg covers it when you ride and it's not someplace noticeable. Unmounted it's noticeable....but not when it really matters

One of my saddles is the same. But its only a hacking one anyway!
I always keep my show saddles cleaned and covere at ALL times, other than at shows.
If I hav to ride in it that isn a show day, Then I just ride in my saddle cover.
Keeps them nice for a long time!!!!

You could try boot polish (the shade nearest the colour of your saddle)
rub in very sparingly , where it's needed only , then polish thoroughly until no colour comes off , & finish with whatever you normally use.
