![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ros Jumping Video
heres a video of ros attempting his first course of jumps, they are only small as their ain't much room in the paddock, but he coped well with the sharp turns and had pretty good control, he got a little excited and we jumped a different jump than i intended a few times but we managed it. put a slightly bigger one up at the end about 75cms just. This is his only third time jumping under saddle too. |

he looks pretty good jumping wise - but very excited! Do you have somewhere bigger you could school and jump him? I know this isn't the critique area but I just think somewhere more spacious and giving him some more time to come into the jumps etc would help.

It's not a great idea to jump a green horse in such a stressful, cramped environment. If you can I would suggest finding an arena nearby or a field where you could teach him with more space.

I agree with the above posters about the space, I woulnt even do polework in that space you were riding in. I do belive if he were jumping in a bigger area with more room coming into and out of the jumps without having to worry about tight turns, His style would be much nicer and consentrating on going over the jump insted of through it.Especially if he is new to jumping,He will still be trying to figure out balance and co-ordination etc,So ideally you want to make this a easy as possible for him. He is a very pretty boy, And im sure with the above suggestions and time, he will be great!

thankyou. I am gonna try and get the field up the road, i was really wanting to see what his reactions were to more than one jump, as normally its only one jump i do and i want to take him out show jumping but really needed to see his reaction to more than one jump, as I think jumping over a 60cm course will teach him a lot, even if he knocks some down it will be a proper course and proper size arena to jump him in.

He looks very willing, will be interesting how he does in a bigger space!
