Are you sure you are talking about what we are talking about? Mine are braided cotton and have zero snaps and the lead is firmly attached to the halter... it cannot come off without a knife.

there are several types available out this way. the one you speak of is also an option but i am not a fan of permanent anything around horses. i guess it's all in what one is raised on and used to. just a stubborn ol' die- hard leather fan here : )

Wow, 10 million comments...I only felt like reading the first page, so there may be some argument going on down there that I'm not aware of, haha.

I love rope halters. But I don't feel like I need to use them exclusively. Whenever I'm doing ground work, I'll use a rope halter. When used properly they're effective and safe.
