I was wondering what a good size would be for a riding arena... I will be getting a house with some acres to it in the next couple of years and was wondering what a good size would be for an arena.. I do not do any showing, just something basic to work horses in between weekend trail rides and maybe an occasional parade... It could also double as a dry lot etc etc.. So what are your opinions

As big as you can possibly make it would be great. Depends on what you are wanting to do with it and how much room you have. Honestly having at least one side a hundred feet long is good and has to be a minimum of 60 feet wide... To me the PERFECT size is 150 x 200.

LoL i am hoping to get a property with 10 acres, but it depends on our budget in a couple of years on what we actually do get.... I would love to have the 150 x 200 that would be great, but I am not seeing myself having that much room unfortunately!!!!

I want to say our indoor is 150 x 250, but I'm not positive.

Those sound like good sizes, so here is my next question, what material would you use to make your arena?? I figure it would be way to expensive to make it out of Pipe gates, but I dont know for sure

If you can afford it, I would go with PVC fencing. We have four rail on the outdoor arena, but as far as I know, two or three rail is fine too, and much cheaper.

Depends on what you have available, what the soil is like and what kind of man power you have. My arena is all corral panels because they were the cheapest thing I could find to make it at the time... This was about seven years ago and I bought a whole bunch for about $35 a panel... Now I really doubt that you can do that with the price of things today...
