Ridiculous

I was trying to rename my paint filly, because the idiot breeder (the one that abused my mustang when i boarded there) named her Hoods Storm Trooper and i dont think thats appropriate to show. After two weeks of emails and calls to APHA, they FINALLY got back to me. They want $100 to change the name. $100! I already paid over that for a memebership, and the competition stuff, and had to fill out paper work up the wazoo. Does anyone know why one earth it costs this much? from what i understand, you can rename tbs for much less. (sorry im ranting, this is irratating to me). Its not like im asking them to change everything on her papers or anything..

I think they charge so much to discourge having to deal with the paperwork, just a suggestion, if you arent going to go to the breed shows and are going to stick with the open stuff you can make up a show name for them...i had a friend with a horse named a truckers dream but at open shows she showed under the name my bedtime slippers, we didnt even know for a while, just a suggestion to help you save some money...plus its not about the name, its about the horse...

Yeah i know, but i plan on showing her in breed shows. I took her to an open show, and i had people asking me if i was either a star wars freak or a nazi haha. oh well, ill just suck it up. It just annoys me that the breeder named her that because he knew i wanted to show her.

yeah , i used to show a horse named kit kamp tee did they just draw names out of a hat and put them together? and will he win it...now that sounds confident!

its annoying, but people get used to it after they hear it a couple times and they will stop bugging you...

haha hopefully. Its just kinda funny, with my last name being kaiser and her having stormtrooper..well

at least theyll remember it when i win i suppose. I had a really good name for her too...

well if you think its worth you could spend the money, but it is pretty expensive..

haha thats what this one lady always calls me at shows. My mustang beats her "perfect" quarter horse at trail every time. its quite funny. shes 43, and jealous of a 16 yo. :P
