| Senior Member+  |  Results from Inavale Horse Trials!
As some of you know, Bodie went lame the day before the event, so my trainer let me take her *very* fancy 5-year-old OTTB mare named Mia, who I had NEVER ridden before! After an 11-hour drive, we arrived in Oregon on Wednesday, and just let the horses relax. Thursday, I rode Mia dressage, and fell in LOVE with her gaits!  Friday, we had the dressage test, and it went REALLY well! This was my third ride ever on Mia, and we got a 34.5, good enough for 5th place! Cross country was also on Friday, and it also went SO well. We did have three stops (two at the first jump, and the third at the biggest jump on the course), but considering that this was her first novice and my second time jumping her (first time XC), over the hardest Novice course I've ever ridden, we did fantastically! She didn't even look at the jumps she usually dislikes (downbanks and ditches). Saturday, we had another rest day and just hacked around. Sunday was stadium. She was a SUPERSTAR and we went double clean! This was my second time EVER going double clean at an event, since Bodie is just not a careful jumper in the arena. I was REALLY happy for just finishing the event, her first completed event in over a year, her second event ever, her first novice, my first time riding her, etc, etc, etc. Just a great weekend overall! Great job and Congrats!!!  Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend, and you look absolutely wonderful on Mia!

I'm so proud of you for kicking butt on her!! Taking Kai around successfully is your next job, just give me a couple months!
