I had a similar experience MissAbby - I was dating someone for over two years who at the time was nothing but jealous of my animals, including my horse. So I devoted all my time to the boyfriend, and even though I still had a horse, completely got out of the whole scene. And when we broke up, I decided to do some things for myself - including recently getting back into horses.

They really are amazing, and they seem to make so many things right. Glad you're getting back on track and the poinies are helping!

Hello and welcome to HGS. I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad time but I'm glad you've found the best therapy money can buy - horses!

Hi welcome to HGS, im new here too. Its easy to say as one door closes another window opens but its true. I look back on my break up for being what started me on the right path to being as happy as I am now, I have a husband who understands the horse bit , something not a lot of people can.
As for the Gypsy cob, I have a friend that has them in the UK, Im not scarily up on them but I can ask the odd question if it helps. One thing, another one of my friends who..thought it was a great idea to go and buy and untouched yearling out of a field(a gypsy cob) no biggie except the nearest he had been to a horse was a german shepard dog!!!?? !!! Gelled with him like glue - a sweeter natured, kinder gelding you wouldnt get, he taught my friend so much.. and now the bug has bitten!!

Welcome to the forum! Horses have always been my best therapy, so I think you're on the right track there!

Gypsy Vanners have always been a favorite of mine... they're such gorgeous animals. I could never afford one though... but I've always heard they've got such amazing, sweet temperments.

Colorado isn't too far off from CA... so here's one of my favorite breeders in my area

Don't forget to check out their stallions! They've got some of the most gorgeous Gypsy stallions I've ever seen
