I like him.

I think once he is back to good health, he'll be quite the looker.

Rescued a horse today.

Don't worry about the long back...my favorite horse to ride was a Palomino Quarter horse/Appaloosa with the longest back ever. She was like riding in a Cadillac as opposed to a beater. She did both Western and English and could jump 4 ft. from a stand although she was only 15H1 tall. Her gate was so smooth. I'm sure that after spending time together you will have a long and happy relationship. She lived to be 23

I thought TB also, or Appendix. Tiny rear and slim through the flanks. Yet the shoulder looks QH. Not very good at guessing but that's what I thought too when I saw him.

Could be the terribly skinny TB that I rescued on March 31, 2008 that makes me think it, he is a bay also, that will probably be pretty dark when he decides he has enough body fat to shed.

He really reminds me of my standardbred mare but then she looks like a Quarter horse! He is going to be lovely once he is well again. Well done for taking him, he looks like a sweetie.

If he is an x racer, he will have either a lip tatoo, or a freeze brand on his neck. We have 2 standardbreds on has the lip tatoo the other a freezebrand. We did not know it on the one with the lip tatoo, we were told he was a walkaloosa. Boy were they wrong, we could not figure out why he did not gait right, well he was a x racing trotter, that just happened to be a bay roan. We knew nothing about him till we wormed him and he rolled his lip, then we saw the tatoo and wrote it down and then could trace him on the internet. I talked to the people that bred raised trained and raced him. He is now 19 and my daughters game horse, and she loves him so much. He has had the best ground manners, and no spook , the best on the trail, but fast, oh my, can trot faster than others can gallop, he can actually do a rack, so fun! I would check his lip then you would at least be able to rule out if he was a TB or Standardbred. So cool! I think he will be a nice looker, have fun with him.

I know an appendix QH named Arrow and your rescue reminds me of him. I think your guy is an Appendix...

Here is a picture of Arrow.

He looks like appendix to me. Or he could just be a very athletic build QH. Good lucky with him and I'm sure he would do good with WP.
