Rescue Tribute Video

Hello all,

I've been tossing around the idea of doing a rescue horse tribute video, no particular reason, just thought it would be a neat way to get some recognition out there for all the wonderful people who have rescued abused and neglected horses. If you could post your before and after pics of your rescues (dates pics taken, if possible) as well as their name, age (if known), breed (if known), etc, that would be great!! (Feel free to include links or other information if you would like credit for your pics.) I'll get the video up and running on YouTube just as soon as I get all the details straightened out, and post a link here on the forum. Thanks!

My Darby 17 year old Paso Fino mare rescued at the auction in Roseville, CA for $25.00. The kill buyers didn't want her too skinny. She was kicked at the auction and has a bone/soft tissue bruise in her hip that still causes her to gimp but getting better every day. In April she was a body score of 1, she has fattened up but still needs to fill in her topline. She's a sweet girl and maybe shown in the past. (I can't seem to upload pictures here but could under other horses titled Darby) If you click on Images you will see before and after pictures of Darby.

Fancy, do they have a regular horse auction in roseville? I have heard of a huge flea market there but not of a horse auction.
Would love to go one of these days. Thinks its only 3 hours south of me.

Yes, they have a regular horse auction. Kill buyers from out of state come all the time. Horrible place, it will be closing soon because the owner does not want to spend the money to upgrade to meet state standards. Going price for Minis and ponies is around $10, horses usually less than $150.
