| Senior Member | Rescue Horses - Update with pics
So... here was the original thread: New 'Rescue' Horses..... UPDATE w/ pics! Post #31 The TWH mare and her baby found a home right away with a friend of ours and she says they are doing good, and I will be going to see them soon. For the other two.... The APHA mare is soooo sweet and is doing much better. She has probably put on 150-200lbs and is still thin, which makes me kind of sad. She had not been ridden in 6 months when we got her, and was too thin to ride until recently. So yesterday, I decided to saddle her up, not work her hard, but just see what she could do, since she was still a bit thin. She stood like a champ for saddling and bridling. Stood to be mounted, never twitched as I fixed my stirrups, I nudged, she moved into a walk. End product was - We got a walk, trot, canter, stop and back up without even the blink of an eye. So then I stood on her, slid off her butt, and did a rear-mount and she still didn't mind. She came with a bit when we bought her, so that's what I rode her in, but she was soo light and easy so I am probably going to switch her to a snaffle bit. Now she is ready to find a home, I'll hate to see her go... Pics: In the ones where my hands are weird it's cause I'm reaching down to pet her. salehorses/Lady - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting The other one. her baby: He is good, 4 months old this month and will be weaned in about a week. He is doing better on the halter, but still has a ways to go. Other than that, he is no longer as thin, and he is getting sooo tall. Good job!!! They both look pretty darn good considering what they have been thru!!

Find good homes for them. Sounds like they really deserve good things in future.
