Rescue Filly..

Im tied about what to do. I need to get this filly out of this situation but I dont know what to do. I dont want to **** the owner off but I dont quite have the money to get her out of there yet. She is a 3 month old Miniature Horse and is living in complete squaller. Her hooves are very long and her front left hoof is shifted from lack of hoof maintainance I dont know if it's utter ignorancy or she just doesnt care.

I need to sell my saddle to raise the funds needed to buy this filly from this woman, as she is wormy, shy and timid, unsocialized. Her baby fur is matted and has huge burrs woven in it. It's just a mess but I'm worried if I dont buy her soon that nobody will as her conformation isnt that good due to willy nilly breeding of owner. She could very well end up on an auction block.

Ive been trying to come down in price but she wont take a penny less then 500 so.. If I have to pay the 500 dollars to get her out of there I will. Im just worried because she wont be fully weaned until next month and the owner supposedly got her hooves trimmed 3 weeks ago.. but they were horrid. She wont do them again for 3 more months. Her front left hoof is shifted and needs corrective trimming. The sad thing is.. she thinks that she's doing right. Her mother is 28 years old and pg again! She's wormy, has had no vacs or proper care. Im just worried.. The owner doesnt seem to care who they go to.. so long as they are gone. She wants to sell them all together for 1000 dollars, money is more important then a proper home.

Atfirst I just wanted to sell the thing to make a little extra money.. Until I came across her. Now I need it gone. If she and the others dont go soon. They will go to auction. I cant have that. If I cant save the others atleast I can get her out of there and promote the others that someone will take them. She has a older stud, father of this filly, dont know age or name. Palomino, 29 inch. Reg. 30 inch. 28 year old paint mare and 34 inch. 27 year old smokey black mare, mother of this foal and in foal to the stud again for next year. All of them are registered.. atleast that's what she said.. but she refused to tell me anything about the bloodlines so I dont know.. She said that she's getting out of breeding and wants them gone soon, preferrably before winter or she will send them to auction.. .

Let them go to auction and buy them there at a much lower price then she'll get from a straight out sale.

That way you most likely save them all, because horses are not bringing much at all... she'll see that for herself.

It will cost her money to no-sale them... so your chances of getting them at a much better price are good, if someone doesn't outbid you .

Agreed.
If you know where she would take them (the auction), i would go there and buy her then. Most horses/ponies around here go for $5-$100. Unless there are amish there. Then the minis go for $200+

That is much better than $ 500.00 , isn't it . If they're in very bad shape, they don't bring much at all.

So... call her bluff and show up at the auction.

From what you and everyone else said she probably won't get anything more than you are offering, and she definately won't get that at an auction. What is she thinking??
