Lucky you! I saw an ad for the Colorado Horse Park in the Modern Arabian magazine- guess its up for sale- I can't imagine seeing all of those accomodations in one place! Looks like you had a great time, and congrats!

You guys look awesome BTW. Scopey fellow you got there, too.
Thanks!! He does have a lot of scope... now if I could only get him to pick his knees up more maybe we'd leave the rails up

hmm... tips, well... if you haven't been told already, walk your XC course at least 2 times, preferably 3 or 4 times. And when you start, focus on getting a good rhythm, once you can set a pace and just get rolling it will make the rest of the course very easy. The first few jumps really set the tone for how the rest of the course will go.
At the moment can't think of anything else! ...hmm... I think I am hij.acking my own thread LOL

I haven't missed it in years. So yes, I will be there. Hopefully with my student, but even if she won't be ready, I will probably go to at least volunteer.
I heard they really upgraded the course for the Area Championships last year. It's always nice to hear an event you picked out to do is a nice one! I think I will try very hard to make it up there to that one. I will let you know!

So, you're looking into going to Gillette! I wish I could go, like our original plan... . But next year I have decided that I will go. (then go on up to ND and pick up Dragon's sister! )
Thanks! Buddy really was a good boy this weekend, aside from that one rail he made easy work of all this novice stuff!

Yeah, I was really hoping to do Abbe, but decided I couldn't make that work out, so i'm gonna try for Powder Basin instead, i'll be in Fort Collins by then so I don't think it'll be to hard to find a ride up there. I wish you could come too! Oh well, next year!

I heard someone telling me about that. I don't even want to know how much that facility would cost, it's HUGE. Thanks for the comment

I know, doesn't he look great? He's starting to look like a real event horse now!! I'm so happy! And considering the competition, yeah, we didn't do too bad! (still kicking myself about that rail though, oh well, live and learn I guess! ....haha, now it's my turn! LOL). And I do want to go to Coconino so bad! You know that! I'll get there eventually, just don't think it will be this year.

Thanks, my next event will probably be Powder Basin up in Gillette, WY if I can work it out. If not, I won't do anything till August, most likely the Northern CO Horse Trails in Greeley, CO.

Definetly next year! I haven't been up there in 3 years. And that time I blew a first place. I really miss being able to go to that event and seeing all the people I know.
