    Replacing conchos/rosettes

I've been doing some research on replacing conchos but can't really find what I'm looking for.

My western saddle currently has 2 layer leather rosettes with saddle strings. The saddle is all black so I'd like to replace them with silver conchos to add a little "sparkle." Is this possible? I already pulled two of the rosettes out, they seem to be attached with one skinny nail.

    Thanks in advance.

As for the actual replacing part, I can't help you there. It's probably best done by someone skilled and experienced in that area, like a leathersmith of some sort. But here's your bling! http://www.conchos.com/conchos.html

As far as I can see, it's an easy process to put on "plain" conchos. The ones with the holes for saddle string are harder because they have to be drilled into the tree. Don't quote me on this though, it's just what I have read.

Most conchos are going to screw in. But even with a hole already drilled, it's just too easy to mess up and crack the tree. The slotted ones just need saddle string run through them.
