Maybe they would send you a couple of sizes to try for fitting purposes. With a deposit of some sort - just an idea.

That wouldn't be bad. I'm definately going to talk to them and see what we can do.
If I just had time to ride her as much as I should, we wouldn't need boots at all. Oh well!

I think we all (well most of us anyway) would like to be able to ride more than we get to. But, life gets in the way for some reason! All we can do is the best that we can.

And, like I've said before I don't think that I could watch nails being driven into my horse's feet again without a very good reason. It makes so much more sense to be able to protect the foot when necessary while still being able to let the foot work naturally and get/remain healthy.

Just saw another example tonight of the local farrier's shoeing job. You can tell immediately the horses he trims/shoes. He takes down the frog, lowers the heels WAY too low, and lets the toes run away. Then, shoes to the flares. And, the people around here think he's doing a good job.

I own a pair and used them on my appaloosa gelding (he is in this months issue of Holistic Horse!).. We team sorted and sorted cattle on the mountain which is REALLY SUPER rocky in Hawaii and I worked him with cattle in the mud and we just trail rode in them.

I absolutely LOVED THEM!!!!!

If you have any questions I would love to answer.

Do you have any issues with them rubbing or flapping? Coming off?

See, that's why you need to get a good fit.

If the toe length is too long, there is the possibility of catching them with a hind foot if there is over reaching of the hinds. That's why mine will be cut down some.

There's really nothing to flap because the heel captivator fits snuggly around the heel bulbs. The captivator is lined with neoprene. Everything fits pretty tidy. The only thing flapping would be the pastern strap, which needs to be kept loose to allow for proper foot movement.

No I didn't but like every product they had some bad seeds a few months ago. They come apart so I would take them apart after riding and clean them. No rubbing issues~ EVER~. I rode in them for long hard days in the dusty, rocky arena and slamming on brakes turning fast and never had an issue. If I remember right the padding can be replaced and they just velcro on.

I don't know how your farrier is but mine trained me to keep my horses feet round and clean I did this once a week and the shoes FIT they were SNUG and no movement! They shouldn't be loose at all and if your horses toe is long they will not fit correctly.
