Post Recommended deworming schedule

This comes from a horse health magazine, and I have seen several post inquiring about the right time to deworm and with what dewomers. Most vets recommend deworming every two months or 6 times a year. You can have a deworming schedule like this-(Jan, March, May, July, Sept, Nov) "or" (Feb, April, June, Aug, Oct, Dec)
Below is a list of dewormers best used for those months.
*Jan/Feb
Anthelcide EQ Paste -or
Panacur Paste -or
Safe-Guard Paste
*March/April
Agri-Mectin Paste -or
ComboCare -or
Equell Paste -or
EquiMax Paste -or
Equimectrin Paste -or
Horse Health Ivermectin Paste -or
IverCare Paste -or
Quest Gel -or
Rotation 1 Paste -or
Zimecterin Paste -or
Zimecterin Gold
May/June
Equi-Cide Paste -or
Rotation 2 Paste -or
Strongid Paste
July/Aug
Anthelcide EQ Paste -or
Panacur Paste -or
Safe-Guard Paste
Sept/Oct
Agri-Mectin Paste -or
ComboCare Paste -or
Equell Paste -or
EquiMax Paste -or
Equimectrin Paste -or
IverCare Paste -or
Quest Gel -or
Rotation 1 Paste -or
Zimecterin Paste -or
Zimecterin Gold
Nov/Dec
Equi-Cide Paste -or
Rotation 2 Paste -or
Strongid Paste
*If you feed a daily dewormer, such as Strongid C or strongid C 2X, be aware that it is not effective against bots, so you should deworm once in the fall and once in the spring using a 1.87% equine ivermectin paste dewormer to control bot infestations.
*If you prefer to not rotate dewormers, use a 1.87% equine ivermectin paste dewormer every other month when you deworm, as ivermectin products have not been shown to have any resistance problems.
*Best time to deworm against Tapeworms is:
Late winter or early spring before grazing season starts or late autumn early winter to "clean out" the horse after grazing season has ended.
*Dewormers for Tapeworms are:
ComboCare(moxidectin)
EquiMax(ivermectin)
Quest Plus(moxidectin)
Zimecterin Gold(ivermectin & praziquantel)
*Pellet/Liquid Dewormers only cover 4 or 5 parasites out of the 12 parasites horses can carry.

Wow! Thats a lot of wormers to choose from! I just rotate from Strongid to Ivermectin. Three strongids in a row and then a Ivermetin. Thats what my vet reccomended. Otherwise I dont think I would ever remember what to give them! LOL!

This is dewormers to use during these months listed and they are listed during these months to kill curtain parasites during that month in a horse.(larva, hatching, and adult parasites)
Keep in mind, Strongid only kill (4) parasites in a horse these are-Large Strongyles, Small Strongyles, Roundworms, and Pinworms.
It is recommended by equin vets/researchers that do research on these dewormers that if you arent going to rotate, to use a dewomer with ivermectin dewormer with at least 1.87% of ivermectin in it "every other month", it covers more parasites that can do alot of health damage to your horse. A reminder: Use ivermectin as your "base" dewormer.
This list is just a reference of what can be used and when. That is why there is such a big selection of dewormers. They vary in price so you can chose what will work in your budget.
