really, i just wanted to cut off the dead ends...

i try to clip my horses's bridle path with my hand clippers, but they are really dull...so i get a scissors and cut it. and that looks fine. then i go to cut her tail. that goes fine.
then i get to her mane, trim the dead ends....then i just go crazy...what started out as a trim turned out to be a hair cut...my horse had a halfway decent mane that was medium length, and now it's about three inches long...
i didn't brush it out before i chopped it all off, but it looks pretty good.

Oh my...

Well, I hope she looks smart with a short mane!

Let this one be a lesson for the future?

Got a bit carried away huh, it will only suck for a little while. One thing about hair....it grows back.

Don't sweat it! I'm sure it's happened to the best of us...I know it's happened to me. I couldn't find my pulling comb a few months back so decided to snip the dead, bleached ends from my geldings mane...well, I wound up making "a mess" (lol) and really was not too pleased with MYSELF after doing so. Go figure, shortly after, I found my pulling comb. I just went through and "fixed" it as good as I could. It's already grown out quite a bit and looks much more natural and much nicer than before or right after the "trim". It happens! I did swear that Lance was sulking about having to go back with the others afterwards...I humiliated him.

Well hey now he has just healthy mane. So I would keep the mane well conditioned with some leave in conditioner and maybe apply MTG once a week to the crest to help speed up the growing process.

Once mum's friend asked me to cut her horses mane, just a bit of a trim.

It turned into a hacked mane that then turned into NO mane!!!! At least the horse looked good..................

Lol someone got scissor happy! thats a no no!

All our horses with long manes dont get trims. Simple as that- let the fried stuff fall of on its own.

Oh and just to clarify- hair is already dead- so the ends that are fried and damaged were dead to begin with. =D
