Re: A rescue Mare

Unfortunately they did not get the money in time. She starved to death. I thank everyone for all they have done, though none of them are from this forum.

ummm...did i miss something here? there were no pics to show us how poor the horse was. and all that was stated was taht they were trying to get people to give money (trying to get 800) to them so they could buy the horse. am i right in this? why didnt anyone call ASPCA? animal control? the police?

it just seems fishy

Right

This was your original post, I might mention posted on the 20th just 4 days ago timewise:

A rescue mare
Hello, I am looking for anyone that would like to help a rescue. We found a mare we used to own for sale. What we have heard of her description she has bug bites and is thin. Some of our friends are trying to find the 800$ needed to get her out of there. She has no grass and I would love to see her safely home again.

P.S. This is not the person we sold her to.
So you are a rescue who sells horses without a contract or contact with people you sell them to to keep track of their care and their locations. And you didn't have a contract so that you couldn't just go in and get the horse when you finally found out through someone else that the horse was in trouble (note: not through your own diligent efforts to assure the horse was ok after you "passed it on" to someone else.).

And then you now want to claim that it "starved to death" within 4 days of receiving notice that the horse was in danger. And you had to have $800 to get it out of such horrendous conditions, rather than sending in AC or the Humane Org. to see just how bad the horse really was. Add to that the "friend" who did see the horse didn't think it was important enough to provide the "owners" with feed till something could be done since it didn't seem to warrant AC being informed either. Right again .

Sure, your knickers are just in a twist casue your scam didn't work here, LOL!

There are lots of giving people on this forum. There are several folks here that have been helped by members that we have come to know over time. Situations that we have read about, and chose to help. To come here, out of the blue and all but demand we help and then to come back and accuse us of being the reason this horse didn't make it?
I don't know where you are from, I have no information, and you don't tell us anything that you have done to try to get this horse help. As others said, no photos, no information, nothing. I really can't believe this was for 'real'.
It sounds like you recieves money from eslewhere. Will you be returning it, since the horse apparently died?

I bet you did a necropsy to really know that is what killed the mare right? Sorry no one from this board is responsible for what happened. If the mare was that bad off you should have gotten Animal Control involved and they would have made sure the mare got the care she needed.
