Oops! I missed all of the posts after the one that I quoted. I think I was out in the sun too long today

If the issue did happen to be soy though. I think that all TC products contain soy. Then again, there's a lot of possibility that it's not soy as well. Might take some experimenting to see.

I can't remember, will she eat BOSS? I think you tried it and no, but can't remember.

Another grain free product they have is TC Senior.

She will eat BOSS, and as of tonight she's eating beet pulp, but only if I put a small scoop of the 10% pellets from wal mart She'll probably decide she hates beet pulp again tomorrow, though, and stop eating it. She makes me want to pull my hair out! She will eat it for a few days, then not eat it!!!

I don't think I'm going to feed any of TC's other feeds - too expensive. Especially if I have to feed 8lbs of it, I'd be flying through a 50lb bag like nothing else.

Since she is eating plenty of forage (from the alfalfa hay), I wouldn't personally worry too much about pushing beet pulp on her if she just doesn't like it. Fat sources would probably be a better way to go.

I might try corn oil again. She didn't like it before, but who knows now.

Eh, I'm not a huge fan of oils at all. But that's just me. They do produce results with many horses, but I've always, without any exception, had better results with whole food sources.

I can't think of any other high fat feed, though. There is Ultium, which is really expensive and has to be fed in the 6-8lb range, there is TC's stuff, but the RB is expensive enough as it is, and I only have to feed 2lbs of that.

Rice Bran, she's already getting about 4lbs a day MAX [I know you don't want to go over that]. She's getting flax seed, too.

I haven't gotten her back on BOSS, though. But then, that's only about 800 cals/cup.

My problem is - she doesn't eat much. So I'm afraid of putting TOO much in front of her, and her not eating it.

But you know, maybe she is on enough food but I haven't giving it enough time? She's been on Rice Bran and the RB since the 12th.

I might just have to give it a few more weeks, or a month, to see.

Whoa! Actually the max on rice bran is 2 lbs.

BOSS is the highest calorie feed that you'll find. Nothing comes to mind that supplies more calories/lb than oil really. It's about twice as many calories as rice bran.

Would it be possible for you to offer her more smaller meals throughout the day?

I was told 4lbs max on the rice bran.

I might go back to BOSS.

She has food in front of her 24/7. She "nibbles" all day. All night. Won't stand and chow it all down like Porscha at one time, but all day.

By the time she's done with her 2lbs of RB, 1lb of rice bran that she gets in the morning, it's time to feed dinner.

That's really just not normal. Does she go back and forth from it to her hay? (That would make a little bit of difference.)

You could do 2 lbs of rice bran and 2 lbs of BOSS (that's the max on both of those). And it would still be supplying a lot more calories than the 4 lbs of rice bran.
