On another message board I'm a member at.....one of the other posters had a horse (Arab, I believe) that went sort of 'crazy' after being put on Equitrol. Might want to look into that.

Hrm...that's interesting. I might have to take her off it and see if it makes any difference. I started the equitrol the same day I started the RB.

That was due to a specific ingredient in the Equitrol (Rabon) that messed with the brain chemistry of some horses. There was actually a class-action lawsuit that was won because of it affecting so many horses in the same manner. Hence Equitrol II now being out, which doesn't contain Rabon.

If you're feeding the Equitrol II, you should be safe. But if it's the original Equitrol, I would try switching her over to another feed-thru, making sure it doesn't contain Rabon, as a couple of them still do.

I'm going to go check this morning as soon as I feed! I don't know if there is a II on the end, but I'm going now to check.

Wasn't it just last week you were saying she was too quiet and steady, making you enjoy Porscha more? She's just showing you that she misses being your favourite pony

(I'm just joking, almost. There could actually be quite a bit of truth in it.)

LOL Yes it was!

I didn't ride her for a while [two weeks, she threw a shoe and my farrier wouldn't call me back] but I was ALWAYS down there during the day to spend time with her, brushing her, giving her baths, etc.

But I noticed her attitude/behavior deteriorating within the last week or so, and she was started on the RB on the 12th.

Maybe it's a combination of things, I'm not sure. We'll see when I go riding today, if the fireworks continue or if she's calmed.

It's Equitrol II. I just went down and fed and looked at the tub.
