Ration Balancers and Rice bran??

I was reading about Ration Balancers, and i wanted to get some for my horses.

Annie- Shes in pasture all day, gets hay 2times a day. During the summer, they get to be in the grass part of the pasture, in the morning, and at night they go into the not grass part of the pasture. She doesnt get any feed. Just hay, and during the summer, grass.

Stormy- In the mornings he gets like 1/2-1 scoop of feed. And hay. During the summer, he gets to go into the grass pasture to.AT night he gets hay to. Hes only a yearling. :] I wanted to get him rice bran, and give him RB.

So, does anyone know any sites were i can order this stuff? I think the Born to Win RB made by purina. (i dont really know about it, but, its what ppl were saying to use.)

Yup, thats all. If you know any sites to order this stuff off of, please post it! :] And if you can tell me about the rice bran and rb, please tell me Thanks!!!

You'll need to get it at a local feed store. Do you know what brands of feed your local stores carry?

You can do a dealer search from their home pages (by state, city, and/or zipcode).

www.triplecrownfeeds.com
www.buckeyenutrition.com
www.prognutrition.com
www.purinamills.com

Those are some of the more common ones. You might have others available to you though.

You would need to take your yearling off of the grain that he's getting now. He may or may not need the rice bran with the ration balancer.

You might ask for them by name also some dealers have NO CLUE

triple crown will be listed as a supplement called TC30%
Buckeye is Gro N Win
Progressive is ProGrassAdvantage
http://www.kentequine.com/Dealer-Locator.aspx also has one called HorseGo32

Purina's is Enrich 32 (Born To Win)

I would try them on the Ration Balancer alone for at least a month before adding anything to any of them

you probably could order them somewhere but it will be much cheaper to get them in person even if you have to drive a bit to do it

if you have to drive very far you should be safe buying two to three months worth at a time so you would only have to make the trip 4 to 6 times a year

You can order them off the internet, but shipping on heavy items when bought in small quantities will kill you in cost.

Is that Ration Balancer or Rice Bran?

If it's the former, check the top of this forum for a sticky on Ration Balancers.

if it's rice bran you mean, there is a wide variety out there, and much likely depends on what your horse likes. There are pellets, nuggets, and a "meal" form that is like coarse sand.
