Ration Balancer choices

Okay, the distributer is taking WAY too long to get the Triple Crown 30% in for me. I fear that if they're taking this long, what do I do if it happens again and they delay shipment while I'm feeding it? Argh!! I LOVE TC products but I can't handle this instability in his feeding regimen.

So now I'm on to having to chose an alternate brand. I know my feed store can order in the Buckeye RB and I just found out that there is a local dealer for the Progressive Nutrition RB (need to e-mail them to see if they're still an active distributor). Of course, I can get the Purina one, too.

One of the things I liked about the TC RB was that it was a low/no grain formulation. The Buckeye does have grain in it, I can't get an ingredient list for the PN RB, and the Purina has the dreaded "by-products" in it.

Of those three, which would be most recommended? It would be best to have an answer NLT Monday morning so I can call in my order (if it's the Buckeye) to have it by the end of the week.

Oh how I wish different brands were actually carried here! The only ones that are regularly carried here are Purina, Nutrena, Kent and Farnam. Everything else has to be special ordered (read: $$$)

Haunani when Buckeye processes and dries the Maize distilled grains it takes all the sugars and starches out from my understanding.... I am on the Gro N Win and LOVE IT.... all of mine look great and act 100% better at all times, my biggest shock was that they no longer act like they are straving at feed time... they still come up and eat but no longer have total choas in my pen...

Thank PS for that insight. That bit of info alone would make me comfortable with feeding it to my boy.

I doubt I'll have to add anything for my easy keeper, even with the increased activity while he's in training (part of our goal is to get him to lose some weight!).

I recommend either the Buckey Gro N Win (or alfalfa equivilant) or the Progressive diet balancer...I have fed both and have been happy with both.

ETA: I am headed out the door, but have an ingredient list for Progressive if you want it...I'll put it up later Oh, and like Peggy said, most RB's have "grains" in them...but they are distiller's grains or other processed grains that had the sugars removed during processing, leaving behind only the fiber portion so they are digested like fiber/forage.

How's this feed rate as a ration balancer? Here's that ingredient list...
