| Senior Member+ | Questions about the horse Market. I know the market is horrible right now. Just icky. Trying to sell Dubes may take a while. What are your opinions on this? What if I were to add a "May Trade" to my ad? Something along the lines of : "May trade for been there, done that, quiet Haflinger/Icelandic or gaited horse of shorter stature with more miles and temperment like Dubies" It's just a thought... I mean are horses selling because people can't afford them or are some selling (like mine) because we want a better suited horse. Just a thought!

| Senior Member+ | If you say May Trade, you might get a few more bites on the ad. I wish you luck on getting Dubie a good home.

| Senior Member+ | I think people are selling them because of prices. ALthough, I was looking for a horse for my friend and you would be surprised how hard it is to find a nice broke horse for under $1000. Maybe its both, I saw a couple really nice pleasure horses sell for $1500.

| Senior Member+ | See...and I got him for $5000.00 OBO...in Cali TWH go between 4000.00-5000.00 but like the house market...prices are down. I can go to KY and find a great gaited horse for about $1500.00 So if someone was willing to trade rather then spend the money...I might get more bites.

| Senior Member+ | Yeah, I think trading would actually work out better for you. I found a couple people who said they train them then sell/trade them to get younger ones. Some people just do it as a hobby

If you're DEAD SET on only those 2, it'll certainly limit your 'trade offers' on your ad. I know if I looked at an ad that said "Open to possible trades for an "X" breed" and I didn't have that breed to trade but also didn't have the asking price on that horse, but did have a horse of another breed that met the trade critera, I'd probably not reply at all.

| Senior Member+ | It's certainly worth a shot, no harm in asking. But I hate to be the party pooper, it'll be amazingly lucky if you can find somebody who happens to have a perfectly beginner broke haffie or icelandic for a not completely beginner broke TWH. Not to say it can't happen, by all means, it might get the ball rolling on something.

![]() ![]() ![]() | I dont know a lot about Dubie, but its sounds like hes green broke. With th market you are going to have trouble getting $5000 for him, IMO. I paid $3500 for my WP show horse with good breeding four years ago when the market wasnt so bad. |
