Questions about Registation Papers

Sorry if this is the wrong board, didn't know where to put this.

Anyhow, Ziggy supposidly has GREAT lines. I'de love to get them, but Ziggy's old owner will never give them, and then probably try to steal Ziggy. (No joke!) Is it possible to find a horse based by markings? How much would it cost to have this done, if possible?

Well depending on the breed registry some times you can file for duplicate papers, But you have to know the horses registered name and or Number.

What is the reason the old owners won't give up the Papers?

Not based on markings. If you know the breed and registered name of one or both parents, that would be a start. Or if you know the names of any of the previous owners. What association would he be registered with?

The old owners didn't even pay board or care for Ziggy-no way they will give me anything. I asked the BO, he said forget about it.

The problem, I don't know the name or registry. All I know is that she is a TB.

If he was raced he will have a tattoo on his upper lip. The Jockey Club can find his mane and pedigree from that tattoo.

If the horse was sold due to a boarders lien, you might be able to get papers. yes if the horse ever raced they will have a tattoo that can be used to trace the registration.

The world is being enrolled into a single global biometric ID system through - passports, driver's license Social Security card, etc.
